Measure your own blank — do not trust the ounces. Two suppliers' “30 oz” can differ by 0.2–0.3 in around, which is enough to leave a white gap at the seam. The presets above are starting points, not answers. Wrap a strip of paper around the rim and around the base, mark where it meets, and measure the strip.

Why a tapered tumbler is not a rectangle

Most tumblers are narrower at the base than at the rim — on the common 30 oz style that is deliberate, so the base drops into a car cup holder. That shape is a cone with the point cut off, and when you flatten a cone you do not get a rectangle. You get a curved band: wider along the top edge than the bottom, with both edges bowed.

Print a rectangle for that cup and two things go wrong. The design skews as the material is pulled around the taper, so straight lines lean. And because the bottom edge is longer than it needs to be, the material bunches at the base while the seam gaps at the top. That is the wedge of white almost every first attempt has.

What size is a 30 oz tumbler wrap?

There is no single correct answer, and that is why so many charts leave people with a gap. Wraps are sized by circumference and height; the ounce figure describes volume, not shape. A tapered 30 oz is commonly around 10.5–10.7 in at the rim and 9–9.2 in at the base, but measure the blank in front of you.

Why is my wrap crooked or gapping at the seam?

You almost certainly printed a rectangle for a tapered cup. Wrapping a rectangle around a cone forces the artwork to skew and leaves a wedge-shaped gap. Use the true sector shape instead.

How much overlap should I leave?

About 0.25 in (6 mm) is standard. Enough to hide the join, not so much that a dark design shows a visible double-thickness band.

What resolution do I need?

300 DPI at final size. The calculator shows the pixel dimensions for whatever DPI you set. Do not scale a smaller file up — sublimation shows softness readily.
