Questions

The fee questions everyone asks.

What fees does Etsy charge in 2026?

A $0.20 listing fee per item sold, a 6.5% transaction fee on the order total (item + shipping + gift wrap), and a payment processing fee — 3% + $0.25 for US sellers, 4% + £0.20 in the UK, about 4% + €0.30 in most EU countries. Offsite Ads adds 15% (or 12% above $10k/year) on ad-attributed orders only. The full table with a worked example lives in Etsy fees explained 2026.

Does the transaction fee apply to shipping?

Yes. The 6.5% and the processing percentage are charged on everything the buyer pays you, including shipping and gift wrap. "Free shipping" doesn't dodge it — the price just moves onto the item and the same percentages apply there. This calculator includes shipping in both percentages automatically.

How does reverse mode work?

Type the amount you want to keep. We solve net = order × (1 − fee percentages) − fixed fees exactly — including the processing percentage charged on the whole order, which naive calculators miss — and give you the item price to list at. Switch modes and the numbers round-trip.

Is it accurate for UK and EU sellers?

Pick your country and the processing math switches to 4% + £0.20 (UK) or 4% + €0.30 (the typical EU rate — a few countries vary by a few cents; check your Payment account for your exact rate). Listing and transaction fees are the same everywhere.

What about currency conversion and Etsy Ads?

Etsy adds 2.5% if your listing currency differs from your payout currency, and onsite Etsy Ads cost whatever daily budget you set — both depend on choices this calculator can't see, so they're not in the table. The how much does Etsy take guide covers both.
